And Why You Should Give Journalling a Try

In today’s noisy world, mindfulness matters. But what exactly is mindfulness? At its core, mindfulness is based around the idea of being present in the moment and listening to our thoughts, feelings, and what’s happening in the world around us. It’s a moment-by-moment state of awareness and calmly acknowledging and accepting your feelings. By practicing mindfulness, we train our brains to go to a place of calm and focus, helping us to fully appreciate the current moment.

How does being mindful help?

Mindfulness has amazing health benefits. Practicing mindfulness has been shown to bolster our immune system, improve mood, relieve stress,  improve sleep, and boost memory.

And in case you didn’t know, there are different techniques to practice mindfulness, but for now let’s turn our focus to one tried and true method: journalling.

How journaling supports mindfulness

Journaling is a great way to start practicing mindfulness. It can be easily implemented into your daily routine – before you start your day or as you wind down for bed every night. Keeping a journal lets you take the time to slow down and understand yourself better – the kind of person you are, your innermost thoughts, emotions, and so on.

Ready, set, start (journaling!)

Once you’re ready to start, it’s helpful to have a journal that contains dedicated sections for self-discovery, goal-setting, and self-reflecting – all of which help you feel better, stay focused, and get to know yourself like never before.
